FLAT BREADS

These are a super quick and really delicious flat bread to have with a salad, soup and delicious filled with for a quick lunch.


Ingredients


350g self raising flour

1 tsp baking powder

350g natural yogurt

Seasoning


Place all ingredients in a bowl and bring together with a round bladed knife.  Then use your clean hands to shape it into a ball of dough.


Knead on a lightly floured work top but only for 1 minute or 2.


Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces.  Pat and flatten the dough with your hands.  You may want to use a rolling pin but it still works to just flatten and stretch with your hands.  Flatten each piece to approx. 12cm round, roughly 2-3mm think.

Cut 3 or 4 lines into the centre of each round.

Place a griddle pan on the heat, once hot, cook each flat bread for 1-2 minutes each side, or until the bread has puffed up and is slightly charred.

​

This is delicious brushed with a little garlic butter or flavoured oil.​

Hints

  • Add herbs or spices to the dough for a change.

  • These work really well cooked over a barbecue.
