I love the fact that there are often stories attached to plants, flowers and bulbs in our garden.
This sweet dog tooth violet reminded me of the fact that they came for my late Aunt and Uncles garden but they were a complete surprise. They hijacked their way into our garden when they were hidden in a pot of herbs. I had only ever known the traditional purple violets so when these emerged they were a very pleasant surprise. If you wonder why these violets are called dog tooth violets my Uncle said its simply because the tubers look like a long dog tooth. Makes sense!
