You might be surprised to read that tofu can be delicious! We have tried it in lots of sauces and different cooking methods and have finally come across the one that is the whole households favourite.
It requires firm tofu that has been pressed or drained to remove as much moisture as possible. The tofu is then marinated in a mixture of garlic, chilli, ginger and soy sauce. It is then coated in cornflour and roasted for a while.
The tofu is then fried with a sweet and sour style sauce/glaze which thickens and coats the tofu to create a dark, shiny, sticky tofu, which is delicious served with special fried rice and steamed vegetables. We will be having this to help celebrate Chinese New Year. Yum!
