Now we love eating olives in this house. They can be plain, black or green but I think our favourite is with juicy sun ripened tomatoes and a garlic and herb dressing.
We have two olive trees in the garden...or should I say had.
Last year one of our trees treated us to some lovely fruits but they didn't ripen in our sun. Funnily enough our summer is not as long and hot as a the Mediterranean summer. No surprise there.
Sadly though we lost that tree this year. I am sure I have read somewhere that the importation of olive trees is not allowed at the moment due to diseased trees in Europe. So we will have to wait a bit longer to replace it. Shame :(
